F Dick Multi Cut Flat Sharpening Steel is knife sharpening equipment at its finest. This multicut sharpening steel has grooves with grinding effect when used with firm pressure. Hones the blade when light pressure is applied. Multicut, flat steel.
Special handle ensure a safe grip.

For honing the edge apply light pressure.

The best. The shape makes it easier to maintain even contact. Works perfectly as it should and isn't to rough on your knives when firm pressure I applied and I have knives at 65 rockwell. I have had this for the last 10 years and it doesn't look like it will need replacing anytime soon and I use it daily at work as well as many of my workmates

I have been using this for years and just realized I never left a review. This is the best or at least one of the best purchases I've ever made equipment-wise! The Multi-cut works beautifully and is a big help with maintaining an edge between sharpenings!

I have owned one of these flat steels for years and today, I finished one of my favorite projects, knife making and I built a forge to continue my hobby. I turned my flat steel into one of the wildest double edged knives I have seen in many years, with a 10 double cutting edge blade!! Fantastic!!

Without a doubt the best sharpening/honing steel available on the market. In fact, at my workplace, about 99.9% of the steels used by my colleagues are F. Dick of one variety or other. But the Multicut Fine Flat Steel featured here is the daddy of them all. Of course, a sharpening steel will only ultimately hone your knife blade and will not repair a badly damaged edge that can only really be achieved by either a whetstone, oilstone, or grinder. But in my experience as a butcher, the F. Dick Multicut will maintain your edge longer than any other steel. It will keep your blade going sharp and strong right up until a quick rub on a stone to realign the edge is absolutely necessary. And then back to steeling your knife for a long time. Adding pressure with your knife whilst running it along the Multicut will vastly sharpen your blade and light steeling will hone it. It is an incredibly well made, durable (a colleague of mine has used his day in, day out for 16 years and still going strong), and spectacularly preforming steel. Do not settle for less. It may be an expensive bit of kit, but you get what you pay for here, and the Multicut is worth more than every penny.

This steel is as much a honing tool as it is a sharpening steel. So do not expect blunt blades to get sharp again. But for every day maintenance of the edge, the tool is great!Be aware, this is a huge, heavy piece of equipment with an 11 blade.
