Bunkas are essentially nakiris with an angled tip added for some additional versatility. Takeda's offering sports a 50/50 compound grind with an exceptionally tall and thin edge bevel. In this blade, Aogami Super steel is treated to achieve a 62 rating on the Rockwell Hardness scale, which allows the knife to retain its ductility while still being capable of superior edge-taking and holding characteristics.
The carbon core of the knife is laminated with kurouchi-finished stainless steel to enhance corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance. While smoother and more uniform than the kurouchi finish on Takeda’s Classic line, the aesthetic integrity of Takeda’s Stainless Clad line remains intact. Takeda’s knives have developed somewhat of a cult following amongst knife enthusiasts and are viewed by many as the gold standard for tall Japanese performance cutlery.

Thin and Nimble
Posted By: Richard Mack
Great shape, black shiny finish, superb construction, super light and nimble.. It became my favorite after this first day of use. Chops, slices, cuts, and dices with ease. A must if you can get your hands on it. Amazing.
One cannot explain in simple words how amazing these knives are. Light as a feather yet hard as a diamond. Easy to sharpen and hold that edge. I waited 6-8 months for it to come back in stock and it was the best purchase I have ever made. Highly suggest everyone gas one of these in their arsenals.
