Sharpal Dual-Grit Diamond Sharpening Stone Wt Angle Guide 220 / 600 Grit
The Sharpal 169H is an 8 in x 3 in (203 x 76 mm) dual-sided diamond sharpening stone with an extra coarse 220 grit (60 micron) face for rapidly repairing severely damaged or badly rolled edges and a fine 600 grit (25 micron) face for smoothing and refining the edge afterward. The diamond surface is monocrystalline, electroplated for long service life, and built to Sharpal MirrorFlat specifications, holding a flatness tolerance of plus or minus 0.002 in (0.05 mm) with no periodic lapping needed. This version ships without a storage case, on a non-slip pad instead.
This is the aggressive end of the Sharpal diamond stone lineup, meant for chips, rolled edges, reprofiling, and repair work rather than routine touch-ups. It is designed to be followed by the 168H stone (325/1000 grit) to carry an edge from repair through to a fine finish. The included Angle Pyramid guide offers four fixed reference angles, 14, 17, 20, and 25 degrees, to help hold a consistent bevel by hand while removing metal quickly.
Use and Care Instructions: Sharpen dry or with honing oil. Do not use water on this stone. Reserve the extra coarse 220 grit face for genuine repair work, chips, rolls, or reprofiling, since it removes metal quickly. Set the blade against the angle guide, work the damaged section on the 220 grit face until the edge is reset, then move to the fine 600 grit face to smooth the new bevel before finishing on a finer stone. Wipe the surface clean after use.
