Harukaze G3 Nashiji Petty 135mm. Harukaze means "windy spring" in Japanese, these Harukaze knives have been made for CKTG exclusively from a medium-sized factory in Tosa, Japan. This is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality knife at a reasonable price. It starts with core steel (G3) with an HRC of 62, then adds a stainless steel cladding with a Nashiji (pear skin) finish to protect and beautify the blade. It is then finished off with a lovely oval magnolia wood handle with a pakka wood ferrule. As a bonus, it has a nice kanji engraving on both sides of the blade.

  • Weight: 2.3 ounces
  • Blade Length: 139 mm
  • Blade Height: 28 mm
  • Spine Thickness at Base: 2mm
  • Cladding: Stainless
  • Edge Grind: 50/50
  • Core Edge Steel: G3 Stainless Steel
  • HRC: 62

      Harukaze Nashiji petty knife review

Nice little knife. It does need a little sharpening out of the box. This is my second purchase from CK2G (first was the Tojiri DP bread knife). Already trying to justify buying another knife ;-)

This is my first purchase from ChefKnivesToGo and I have to say, what my friends said about this site was true. I loved being able to watch a video on it and get a feel for how the knife looked in real life, although the pictures are good too.

Very sharp, very authentic, detail oriented blade. One important thing to add! I do like this knife, but it is a HALF TANG, meaning the steel does not go all the way into the lightweight wooden handle. This makes the blade very front heavy, although it is lightweight in general. The balance leads heavily to the tip of the blade, but I actually thing that serves it's purpose as a small slicer well. Just so you know. Highly recommend though, I love using it.
