The Tojiro Bread Knife is an amazing deal, pure and simple. This budget priced blade is made using a stamped mono steel construction of a generic stainless steel. The blade is very well executed and features a single sided scallop edge. The thin profile is perfect for slicing through soft or hard crusts. It will slice off perfectly straight segments of bread with little or no crumbling or breaking. In fact this knife makes cutting bread fun! Because the edge is scalloped it will remain sharp for a long time.

The blade has a full tang and a composite wood handle which is attached with three stainless rivets. The handle not only looks good but feels comfortable and secure during use.

We are quite amazed at the high quality of this simple kitchen knife given its extraordinarily low price.

Love this knife. Use it multiple times a week to cut a couple baguettes worth of crostini as well as several cases of sourdough. All of my coworkers who use it remark on how great a bread knife it is. It really is a powerhouse of a tool.

Far and away one of the best bread slicers for the money. I occasionally pull it out to slice my smoked brisket and homemade bacon - tasks I usually reserve for my Wusthof ham slicer.

Only bread knife you'll need and sharp!

I got rid of my mega knife set after reading from pros how you only really need 3 knives if you are starting to get serious and can add along the way. One of which is a bread knife. This a good one. It comes very sharp. I have cut myself on the end knuckle by tapping one of the teeth while reaching for something else in the drawer. It is a good bread knife.

Most easily used & abused knife of my Japanese stable. Wonderful for tomatoes, slicing hams & salamis, and cheap enough to let the missus use it as she forgets to use a board, a cardinal sin, but forgivable with a 20$ knife. Cuts excellently, as good as my Tojiro damascus, because it bites more easily. A shorter version of this knife would be enough for most 'casual use' non-knife-geek households out there!

I purchased this knife based on a serious eats article claiming it was the best knife for the price. My bread loaves are quite crusty and I was hoping this knife would solve my cutting problems. Unfortunately I still have them and I think it could be due to the flexibility in the knife. Be weary of using this on tough crusts as the blade will flex and give you trouble with a clean cut.

Wife has been nagging me about a longer...bread knife. Given my affinity for Japanese knives, this is where I wanted to go, but didn't want to spend $200 on a specialty knife. This one is perfect, sharp as can be, has some flex, no issues with any product. I like the finish as well, very clean. Looks and performs way above it's price point. Get the black felt cover as well, it fits perfect.

I can't believe I even contemplated whether or not to buy this knife. I saw a review that said "just buy it" and I did and wow, what a difference from the pieve of crap Great Harvest bread knife that we had. I know actually enjoy cutting bread.

I love this bread knife. It's sharp, slightly flexible and out performs knives that are way more expensive. I buy them as gifts for my friends and use mine daily. I also like the minimalist look. No frills just agreat knife.

Great knife, great price. It's very sharp and seems to be holding its edge pretty well. I've put it up against some crusty bread, no issues. The blade is a bit flexy but it is not an issue. The handle looks much better than in the picture, very pretty color and finished well. I would love to see Tojiro make a filet knife with the same metal and handle. Would be awesome.

This knife is well worth the 20 something bucks. It's like a laser beam going through bread. Looks cool too. The handle color is misleading in the image. It's much more finished looking and the color is really interesting, Very pretty. I think the only down side could be is that it is very flexible. But I don't really see it being an issue. I'd love to see a fillet knife made this same way with this same metal and not serrated.

Best $22 ever spent

This knife hits far above it's weight class. I wanted something that had more pronounced serrations compared to my Mac Pro bread knife. This does the trick. I bought two so I could keep one for me and give the other to my mother. This is a great solo bread knife or paired with a higher-end one with scalloped serrations. I think many people would be delighted with only this one. If you are thinking at all then you are over-thinking it. Click it, find a blade guard of the proper length if you need one, and click "buy." Simple!

I was very surprised on how sharp this bread knife was. Just barely touched the blade when I was taking it out of its packaging, yep bandaid needed.

For a $20 knife it performs way above its price tag. Very please on how well it goes through product. Doesn't tear even very soft bread.

After looking at reviews where I could find them, this Tojro offering came up time and time again. Already having A DP Santuko in the block, for the money I figured I couldn't go wrong.
Now having a chance to run it thru a few different types of bread, I would highly recommend this blade.
The handle feels great, and the blade leaves very little crumb on the board. Best bang for the buck if your asking me
