TOJIRO SHIROGAMI

White #2 steel, also called Shirogami steel, comes from the Hitachi steel mill. It is reactive carbon steel, which means that it will develop a patina over time and you need to take care to keep it dry or it will rust. It is an easily sharpened steel and holds an edge well. Often it will come with a rustic kurouchi finish which is the dark, rough finish.
