Perhaps THE peeler!, November 5, 2025Posted By: Brendan

After looking at the prior comments I had to wonder, does this blade fit in the original peeler? I'm happy to report that you can indeed swap this blade into the plastic body we all love. I have to use this blade for a bit longer to verify if it lasts longer than the carbon blades. But it does feel very sharp and I think the angle of attack is a bit shallower than the carbon blades. Enjoy the stainless ease!

I got tired of the plastic/carbon steel peelers rusting. The plastic peeler may be a touch more comfortable, but the sharpness and ease of case with this peeler is great. The blades appear to be the same size so I may try to swap the stainless blade into the plastic handle.

Excellent peeler, one caveat.Posted By: Doug

I have long been a fan of the cheap plastic Kuhn Rikon peelers, they are the best, most comfortable to use, and have the best eye puller in the game. Using a y peeler is a necessity in a kitchen with any volume, less fatigue, and its easier to cut shallow on your veg. There is one problem with them. The blades are blued or coated steel, not stainless, so leaving them in the sanitizer bucket is a death knell.
So I picked this guy up from CKTG, and it is excellent. All stainless, and it sinks in the sanitizer bucket. Toss it in between uses, pull it out and dry it off when prep is done.
The only caveat. I wish it had the same handle and eye puller as the original plastic model. That's not enough to knock a star off of a great tool, though. If you do a lot of veg prep at work, or just want a peeler that will last the rest of your life at home, this is the ticket. Price is totally reasonable, especially when compared to some of the fancy department store brands.
