I have a few of these sayas and really like them. I finish them with cherry stain and polycrylic. Because they're made of wood that will blotch badly when stained, I use a wood conditioner prestain first, then stain, then 3 coats of polycrylic. THey end up looking really nice. I also drill a hole on the handle side and attach a string to tether the pin.
A great product and is the perfect fit when you provide the knife information when purchasing. A perfect product for those like to do a little of your own finishes to fit the kitchen. However I recommend you stand around 800 frit just to clean the fuzz when using a food grade oil finish. Also mildly sand edges only if you don't want sharp angles.

Every Saya that I have purchased from CKTG has been phenomenal and I plan on purchasing this one for my Tojiro color series 270mm Sujihiki. That knife works like a dream and I wanted to make sure it's protected and I don't trust any other saya but a CKTG Saya.
