The Edge Pro Apex produces excellent sharpening results - but adding a leather strop to the system takes it to a different level. This CKTG bovine leather strop combines bark-tanned honing leather with a standard Edge Pro plate, letting you strop at your exact sharpening angle on the same system you sharpened on. The result is a mirror-polished edge produced entirely on the Edge Pro without moving to a separate stropping setup. At 1 inch x 6 inches the proportions match the Edge Pro stone format exactly.
Use the fine-grain side with or without stropping compound. Diamond spray or CBN spray loaded onto the leather will produce a more aggressive cutting action for faster edge refinement. Without compound, plain leather stropping removes the fine wire edge and aligns the apex. Always use edge-trailing strokes on a leather strop - pushing the edge forward will cut into the leather and damage the surface. Go backwards only, the same direction you would strop freehand.
What Customers Are Saying: Nine reviews averaging 4.5 stars. Reviewers consistently praise the quality of the strop and the mirror polish it produces on the Edge Pro. One reviewer calls it simple, affordable, and valuable - noting it makes a real difference to edge quality. Another confirms it works with or without compound and recommends it as an essential addition to any Edge Pro setup.
Care Instructions: Load with stropping compound as needed. Wipe excess compound periodically. Store dry. Replace when the leather surface becomes worn or contaminated.

Bovine strop edge pro

Really like the leather strip for stripping. I also tried diamond paste on it, but would not recommend the paste as the consistency is too thick and will not smooth out evenly. Use the rouge bars instead, or just the leather by itself.

I have had limited experience with strops and could never get good results. I contacted CKTG and asked them what would be a good beginning strop that was easy to use. They recommended this strop with the .5 micron paste. To say my edges are polished is a gross understatement. Not only did it make a more beautiful edge, cutting effort was greatly reduced. Definitely recommend this for your first time.
