Mr. Yoshizawa is a blacksmith in Aomori in the north of Japan who makes beautiful knives under the Nigara brand. During the early Edo Period, the city of Hirosaki was a castle town. There were over one hundred forging shops in the area. Nigara Forging is one of these historical Tsugaru blacksmith shops. The Nigara company has kept the traditional forging techniques alive and has remained committed to high-quality blade forging for centuries. This knife comes with a beautiful yo handle made custom for the blade.

A stunner to look at with performance to match. A bit heavier with the Yo handle but the heft seems to make it feel confident on the board. Simply drops through product. Yoshizawa is one of my favorite smiths.
