Yahiko Kurouchi
Kurouchi is one of Japan's oldest blacksmithing finishes — the rough black scale left from forging is preserved along the spine and shoulders, while the cutting edge is polished bright. Yahiko builds this line exclusively for us out of Tosa, Japan, using reactive Blue #2 carbon steel wrapped in stainless fladding for extra corrosion resistance, paired with octagonal magnolia handles and black buffalo horn ferrules. It's a rustic, hard-working look on a steel that takes — and holds — an exceptionally sharp edge.
