Wanted to see how one performed with decent steel and also wanted to see a Zakuri in AS.
The F&F on this knife is actually great. Nice kurochi finish with beautiful blue color. The rosewood handle with black pakka wood ferrule is well done. Balance point is right at my pinch grip. Was sharp, but not extremely sharp OTB. Sharpened on 3k, 5k, 1micron balsa to a screaming edge.
Cuts like a dream and seem to hold an edge quite well.
For people like me that prefer an entirely reactive blade with a kurouchi finish at a reasonable price, I think that this is a winner. Not sure about pro kitchen use as I have never been a pro. That said I cook at home every night, and this knife is a pleasure to use.
