5  Tojiro stainless nakiri review, April 26, 2018

This is my second one of these knives. I am so satisfied by it that when i replaced the one i had for years that became lost i bought the exact same knife. After looking at all the nakiris and having around $200 to spend i still bought this knife. Its comfortable and im used to it and its a great knife. It may be cheaper than alot of knives but its quality. No problems. I see the term workhorse alot. Ive cut on a daily bases more veggies than most people prep for a week with this knife. And its nice not having to have a dry rag on you all the time to wipe it down. All stainless. If you buy this you will be satisfied

5  Choice of Knife type, April 1, 2017

If you are deciding for what is your first knife type, nakiri is should be the first of your choice. I first bought a yoshihiro sujihiki, then a seiki mago roku deba, then this nakiri. Trust me, the first chop on to the vegetable is so great that I can never forgot the feeling. Since all dishes do need a certain amount of vegetable, going for this choice will never be wrong.About tojiro, this is just a new knife to me, but the overall balance is ok, it' center of mass is well designed for nature up and down motion, you will just need a tiny force to push forward while chopping down. So, this makes control much easier. (applying constant force to one same direction makes it easier to do precision control compare to no force free fall).

Fantastic value.comfortable, well balanced and extremely sharp edge right out of the box.would have given it four stars for the slightly cheesy handle but the price far makes up for it

Great knife! This is my first Japanese knife, and I'm really happy with it. It's nice and sharp right out of the box and slices beautifully. Fit and finish seem quite good to my untrained eye?it's a beautiful blade. It also comes in a very nice presentation box.The D-handle is designed for right-handed users, but my left-handed wife has no trouble using it.
