Posted By: ChrisI have several Tanakas now. Really love the grinds on them. The knives feel solid, stiff spines and decent weight, but the grinds on them make them cut like much thinner blades. This one has a odd little divot in the handle that i don't love the look of but that doesn't really detract in any way from the use or feel of the knife. The little handle cut isn't on the smaller knives in this series, and i prefer the simpler straight handles on those. But like i said, more of a minor and purely visual thing for me than any real issue. This series with the simple western handles and the Nashiji finish is my favorite of the Tanaka offerings. The weight distribution is similar to the traditional style of knife, but with just a bit more towards the handle. I find it a very comfortable knife to use. A very nice in-between that is not quite a full wa or a full yo. I find it ideal for my needs.
