Although you can spend hundreds of dollars on a Japanese made Chinese cleaver, this Chinese made cleaver is SOOTB, has decent edge retention and is easy to maintain. I re-edged it to 20 degrees and no chipping so far. My family owned a Chinese restaurant so have spent a lot of time with a cleaver the only knife on my board. If you don't mind a little more maintenance, their carbon steel knives cut a little better. Highly recommended.
