Among the various sizes in the Anryu Hammered lineup, this 150mm petty has become a genuine go-to for many owners, light enough for detail work yet long enough to handle real prep and even light meat trimming and boning.

The blade is built from Hitachi Blue Paper #2 carbon steel with a stainless steel cladding, adding strength to the core while protecting it from corrosion, and finished with the deep hammered texture the line is known for. The exposed carbon edge will discolor with normal use and can rust if left wet or dirty, so keeping it dry and clean is the simplest way to keep it performing well. The handle is an oval rosewood with a black pakka wood ferrule.

Please note that due to the thickness of the spine on this knife, CKTG does not carry a saya that fits it. A felt blade guard is recommended instead for safe storage.

What Customers Are Saying: Owners consistently describe this petty as light, well-balanced, and impressively sharp for an out-of-the-box edge, with several calling out the fit and finish as exceptional for the price. More than one buyer mentions it as a repeat purchase after owning a previous version with a different handle. One reviewer did receive a knife with a couple of small nicks already in the blade and had to resharpen it before first use, a frustrating but isolated experience compared to the otherwise consistent praise this petty receives.

Care Instructions: Because the edge is reactive carbon steel, wipe and dry the blade immediately after each use rather than letting it sit wet or dirty. Avoid leaving acidic foods against the blade for long stretches, and apply a light coat of camellia oil if the knife will go unused for a while. Hand wash only.

What a dream of a knife. The fit and finish are outstanding, and it looks good enough to display on the kitchen wall. The out-of-the-box edge was already quite good, but after a quick touch-up on a 6k stone it became amazing. CKTG packed it extremely well, including the maker’s packaging plus an additional knife guard and tip guard. Simply outstanding.

Waited about a year before reviewing. I have several of the hammered line and find that this is one of the more useful. It is extremely light and agile. My go to for a lot of meat prep as it works well for trimming and boning. Also:my knife of choice for filleting smaller (~3 lb) fish. Great fit and finish. Really can’t beat this line of knives for aesthetics especially given the price.

This is my 2nd copy of this knife. 1st was a present that came with a nicer handle, but I'm leaning towards this one, as it's height is taller, and I'm starting to like the mini round handle feel. Pretty sharp put the box, but I'll probably give it a few swipes on a 3k since I'm OCD about sharpness. Smooth clean profile. Price is fair (especially because the fit and finish nice and smooth all around). I believe it's made by the new smith that took over, but the quality is still on par with the OG Anryu (bold statement)

I absolutely love this thing ! It's light in the hand; well balanced; sharp enough out of the box and cuts liked a charm.
Only drawback is the $37 usd international shipping cost, which is a lot compared to a knife worth $135 usd. Still worth it though.

Love the size of the knife, however, I had to refinish the blade. It arrived with 2 very distinguished nicks in the blade. Super frustrating to have to resharpen a brand new knife. Aside from that, I love it.
