Posted By: MaxI bought this with the intent of it being a beater but find myself using it as my primary knife for every task in the kitchen. It takes and holds a very sharp edge that lasts through my 70-80 hour work weeks from veg and protein prep to making sushi and executing finer cuts like katsuramuki. I seriously beat the crap out of this thing every day and all it takes is some honing on a ceramic rod to get back to being incredibly sharp. The only reason why I can't give it 5 stars is because the handle and spine have some rough edges that wear away at my hands after a while, but that's nothing some sand paper and files can't fix. For the price, I couldn't recommend this enough.
