Rinzen Shochu Glass Hou Ei. Size: 60mm x 67mm. Here is what the artist says about his glass. "This beautiful hand-made glass is made for cold sake and the lapis lazuli that expresses the ephemeral appearance that disappears like bubbles with the traditional pattern of turtle shell crest and chrysanthemum tether. It is a beautiful glass that makes the fine chrysanthemum tethers peeking through the turtle shell crest look smaller. The idea is that we should cherish the beautiful everyday life because it is ephemeral, and the casual life because it is ephemeral."

I was cruising the site when I sort of tripped over this amazing object. Every single SHINY THING! receptor in my central nervous system fired as one. Truly a bracing experience.
Upon arrival, I noted that the actual object conformed closely to the photos, but i must add, those photos are fantastic. This is an instance where the ad copy and the physical thing are in close agreement. There is one left, and i cannot begin to describe the temptation to put the card into play for a second one such. The he craftsmanship on this glass are in line with my finest kitchen and woodwork tools that all came from some grumpy old guy’s pine charcoal forge.
I have not yet used it. I figure it’ll host some old Glenlivet 21 or perhaps some good Armenian brandy.
