Maestro Wu Knives We are proud to add Maestro Wu knives to our ever growing collection. Founder Mr. Wu Tsong Shan of Kinmen Island (Taiwan) learned the craft of knife making in China during the Ching dynasty. He eventually passed the skill onto his son, Mr. Wu Chao His, who began to collect artillery shells that had been dropped on Kinmen Island by the US and Allied Forces during WWII. He made knives out of this steel and earned the name "Maestro Wu."
Kinmen Island also suffered artillery bombardment from Mainland China in the 1950s. Mr Wu collected this plentiful steel as well and continued with the production of his knives. Today Mr. Wu continues his craft and sells his knives internationally. He is respected worldwide for his ingenuity. Visitors to his shop can actually assign a shell and observe a knife being forged from it. His knives are collected by knife enthusiasts for their quality and their interesting and meaningful history.
The collection includes both the "Bombshell" and "Damascus" lines. See video on individual knife pages.
