This impressive example of a Mioroshi Deba
was crafted by Yauji-san. (Mioroshi means the blade is thinner, lighter and more agile).
The blade has been crafted from a White #2 carbon steel. This steel is reactive, not stainless, and will require proper care and maintenance. The white #2 is famous for its edge taking abilities. It has a hardness of 61 HRC.
The cladding is a beautifully done Damascus.
The handle is a traditional octagonal Ho wood handle with a Buffalo Horn ferrule.
*The edge is a Single Bevel – requires a special set of skills to sharpen.
