Made with one of our favorite kitchen cutlery steels known as VG-10, hands down the most popular alloy used in stainless kitchen knives coming out of Japan. VG-10 is a high carbon content steel that exhibits great edge taking and holding characteristics as well as being very easy to maintain. The name is derived from the Japanese V-Kin 10 branding. Kin is Gold in Japanese and thus you get VG-10.

The core steel is clad with a softer stainless steel which is hammer-finished and polished to a high luster. There is also some nice hand-chiseled kanji elements to further enhance the looks and value of the knife. The fit and finish of the blade and handle are of a high standard, equally matched by the excellent performance it achieves. Add to this equation a very keen price and you have another super deal on a great knife under the Yahiko brand.
