Based in Echizen Japan, the brothers Takamura run a small factory that turns out beautiful knives at reasonable prices. This knife is made with a very nice hammered ("tsuchime") cladding over VG-10 steel and nice pakka wood handle finishes it off. An excellent value and one of our favorite petty knives on the site in this general price range.

Guys I have to say that this knife is one of the best I've ever owned. I've had mine for a month now, and it performs big time! I also bought the Gyouto of the same style and I use this petty more. The one bad thing that happened was first day the tip bent and I had to work the blade on the stone. Excellent knife, definitely a work horse for anyone's tool kit, awesome buy!
