A 3rd generation blacksmith working out of Niimi, Mr. Takeda produces some of the most unique high performance knives on the market. His knives have developed a cult following largely due to the combination of unique aesthetics, excellent treatment of core Aogami Super steel, extremely thin blades with excellent grinds, and tall profiles. This particular line clads the Aogami Super with softer stainless steel which makes this Takeda Stainless petty an excellent performer that requires far less maintenance than iron clad equivalents. This little Takeda is a perfect knife for detail work and smaller peeling tasks. The fit and finish of the handle and blade are excellent and make it very comfortable to hold and maneuver.

I already knew what I would be getting because I've been using a Takeda Santoku for years. Unlike the Japanese damascus knives which are beautiful to look at as well as functional, Takeda knives look like they mean business. And they do. Their beauty is in their pure functionality. Keep these babies sharp, oiled, and use them as intended, and there's nothing else that cuts better. A lifetime investment and a joy to use.

This is my fourth Takeda knife. It came fully sharpened right out of the box. I love this knife. Very easy to use, well balanced, and able to make extremely thin cuts in vegetables. All of these knives take and hold an extremely sharp edge..
