We are huge fans of Sukenari knives, having represented their line for several years. They produce some of the most beautiful blades we carry. Their use of high end materials and exotic techniques places them at the forefront of Japanese knife makers. Fit and finish on these knives is exemplary.
This particular gyuto has been fashioned by noted blacksmith, Mr. Hinaki, from Aogami Super which is hardened to 63-64 Rockwell. The inner core is then enhanced physically and aesthetically with the addition of a cladding made from nickel damascus stainless steel. The finished blade is polished to a high degree adding to the stunning looks and usability of this fine implement. Care should still be taken in the maintenance of the exposed AS edge as it is reactive and prone to rust if not dried carefully after each use.
We were fortunate to be able to obtain some examples of this fine gyuto without handles, so we enlisted our woodworker to produce a blue dyed maple handle. This a rare chance to own one of the finest and most elegant blades made with a custom finished handle that matches the aesthetic perfectly.
