If you have a need for speed, our Kohetsu True Grit stones are the stones for you. These are nice and hard ceramic stones that cut fast and don't load very much since the ceramic abrasive has a quick releasing binder that allows the particles to release quickly. This 1000 grit stone requires a very quick soak of a couple of minutes before using. For a limited time, we're including a free stone tray that works great as a stone holder and keeps the water from going all over your counter or workbench.

This stone makes quick work of most any steel.
A good soak is necessary and even then it does need to be spritzed.
It does muddy up quick and sometimes I’ll go with the mud , that slows things a bit but the finish is nicer.
It doesn’t dish as quick as some other low grit stones but I can see this wearing away fast if thinning hard steels.
I like it and I feel it is a good value and a solid low grit performer.
