Mikisyo Blue #2
Nakiri 165mm. At one time Mr. Nagaike's entire clientele was small farmers and townspeople from the Miki area. He made cutting tools (primarily kogatanas) but also small nakiris and garden tools for the farmers in the area. Rice is the main crop in Miki and there have been many small blacksmiths that grew up alongside the farmers to supply them with tools to work with. This modest little
nakiri is hand engraved by Mr. Nagaike and is hammer forged with a double-sided edge and a traditional ho wood oval handle. Care needs to be used to keep it from rusting by washing it and then towel dry it.
