This nice little petty is made by Yu Kurosaki, from Echizen Japan. The size is the smallest one he offers and it's good for paring and peeling. The convex grinds on his knives are excellent and transition into an incredibly thin grind behind the edge. The smith’s treatment of White #2 steel is top-flight. Edge retention is excellent, the steel is very easy to sharpen and can be taken to high levels of refinement. The iron Damascus cladding on these knives is fairly reactive and due care should be exercised when caring for the cladding and the core steel.
