Yu Kurosaki excels in creating knives that are truly athletic in character, performing equally as well cutting hard, dense produce as they do gliding through onions. Much of this is due to how thin his knives get behind the edge and the wonderful grind on the blade. Just one look at the choil photograph reveals the amazing craftsmanship and design abilities of this talented blacksmith.
The
Yanagiba is a big boy and comes with a sweet mirror finish.
Kurosaki-san has used Blue #2 Steel on this particular knife which is an excellent choice for a large Yanagi. The core steel is hardened to 62 HRC with typical single bevel, Ni Mai construction.
A really nice handle made of Ebony with black Buffalo Horn echos the fine fit and finish of the blade and completes a well made, great performing kitchen knife package.
