Nano cloth is a unique material and it's very well suited for stropping both knives and razors. The reason that it's so effective is that the material has almost no effect on sharpening an edge - less than leather, felt, or balsa. For extremely fine compounds, you don't want what you put your compounds on to provide more abrasion than the compounds, so this is an IDEAL substrate for your finest compounds. MUCH less give than even the hardest of felts, this is a synthetic fiber producing a completely uniform surface that holds compound in place. The cloth is mounted to magnet-backed glass for a nice hard surface with no give. Try the ultimate in strops with your finest compounds and you will be impressed with the results. Dr. Matt recommended!

5  Great substrate for abrasive pastes and sprays, May 7, 2019

I have used a variety of substrates with abrasive pastes and sprays for putting the final polish on straight razor edges. I find these nanocloth strops to be even better than the kangaroo leather strops. The hole thee compound well, remain flat, and have a nice smooth draw. I use the Ken Schwartz CBN sprays as fine as 0.1 micron to produce an exceedingly keen and smooth edge.

5  Pretty Cool, August 8, 2017

Thought I would try one of these out with some 1 micron paste, I usually use balsa. They are a bit pricey but very cool, I like this a lot! I am sure there are a couple more in my future with various compounds
