Richmond Laser 210mm. Introducing the Richmond Laser. Many thin gyutos have been nicknamed "Lasers" over the years and they've been popular on our site. I thought I would take a shot at my own laser using my favorite stainless steel, AEB-L and heat treat them to my specifications at 61 Rockwell and add a nice upgraded octagonal handle made from rosewood and ebony. The result is one of the best performing stainless knives that I've tried and I hope you like it as much as I do. Here are some specs:
This is a great lightweight knife. Perfect for a home cook as it is very comfortable and is a perfect for slicing as well as light duty chopping. For alot of heavy duty chopping a carbon blade will work better as it will have more weight. The steel is stainless so no rust worries (like carbon steel) and a lot cheaper than similar ZDP steel. It is my favorite knife do to its light weight and size. Mark will put a custom handle on it which improves looks and I personally like a longer handle than the stock handle which was to small (around 4 1/2’’) for me. Lastly,CKTG is the #1 place for knife selection, value and customer service; NONE BETTER!!!
Unbelievable knife and even better customer service. Makes me warn to cut onions and do prep work rather than dread it.
