Matsubara Blue #2 Nashiji
Omura City is near Nagasaki in the southern part of Japan and is home to Mr. Tanaka, the owner of Matsubara blades. Nagasaki has a rich tradition of blacksmithing that goes back many centuries. Those techniques are still being used today for knives and farm tools. Tanaka Kama Kogyo is a 4th generation blacksmith who owns the shop and his blades are popular in this part of Japan. The knives you see here are made with a nashiji finish over hard, blue #2 steel.
