Introducing the Richmond Laser. Many thin gyutos have been nicknamed "Lasers" over the years and they've been popular on our site. I thought I would take a shot at my own laser using my favorite stainless steel, AEB-L and heat treat them to my specifications at 61 Rockwell and add a nice upgraded octagonal handle made from magnolia wood and buffalo horn. The result is one of the best performing stainless knives that I've tried and I hope you like it as much as I do. Here are some specs:
Really loving the Richmond Laser I received last week. Right out of the box sharp, gorgeous F&F,great looking wood. The shape is almost identical to my Sakai Yusuke 240 wa,but is a bit thinner with a sharper taper. My 270 Tad is usually my go-to,but your Lazer is quickly becoming a favorite, despite the size difference. Handling qualities seem to be making up for size......... Cudos, sir, and thanks for a great product.
I got my Laser Friday and have chopped my way through every onion, pepper, potato and tomato in the house. It is an absolute beauty and I love the way it flies through food on the board.
It is a beaut! You should be happy with it as the creator.
great bang for buck. Awesome steel. For the price range I give it 5 stars. Everyone should applaud Mark Richmond for what he is doing for the knife industry.
Wonder creation from mark gets super sharp on my shaptons and will literally shave the hair off your face it even passes my potato test i drop the potato and it falls rife through. Gladly due this for any customer just check the box for jmbullman. Peace to all, jmbullman
Out of the box, this is the sharpest knife I’ve ever used. Length and blade height are great. Says didn’t come with a pin but the fit is perfect so I wont really need one. Thank you for this great knife
I’m in the market for a new knife,& these have caught my eye. I work in a professional kitchen & I need something that will stand up to day to day slicing, mincing, chopping, etc. I’m considering either the Addict 2,the Laser,or the Ultimatum. As an aspiring chef, any & all help, hints & clues as to which knife is best would be appreciated. So far,it looks like the Laser is going to win hands-down.

This knife is great. It is very lightweight and super sharp right out of the box. Retains its edge and is easy to sharpen. Great buy!!
