This beautiful knife is one of a kind. Made by one of the top blacksmiths in Japan this blade is made with a solid piece of blue #2 steel and it's hand forged and water quenched in a very similar way that katana swords have traditionally been made. The knife has a beautiful mirror finish and ground equally on both sides for easy use by right or left handed users. The custom handle was done by Tim Johnson and it's made of stabilized spalted bukeye burl with a piece of mammoth tooth used as a spacer and Stabilized 5460 year old Bog Oak ferrule.
One of the best knives I own! Superb craftsmanship! a real pleasure to use and look at. The presentation is flawless and the handle is the best i’ve seen from a Wa-honyaki from Konosuke.
Marks service is bar none one of the best in the industry and a great gut to do business with! No complaints here!
A Gorgeous Knife. Isaiah knows handles/wood types. The Konosuke (Ko no’ ski) Honyaki gyuto is well made; thicker than the HD/SS Konos yet thinner than the Fujiyama Konos - very happy with fit/finish/feel. As ALWAYS,MARK/CKTG is #1 in customer service!!! Get Yourself one if You can!
Out of all the knives I own,(other konos included) by far the best of the best. Nothing can compare to it period. No words can truly describe this blade. Worth every penny. Thanks many times over to Mark for getting it.
