This is a custom designed Ginkgo damascus pattern done for CKTG. The knife is stainless and uses their KD stainless steel. The word ginkgo in Japanese is Ichou and means "living fossil". They have been used in Japan for hundreds of years as a popular motif in Japanese textiles, ceramics, paintings, literature and poetry. Even family crests have used the ginkgo since the middle ages.
The blade is made with KD damascus stainless steel and the handle is done by our woodworker Isaiah Schroeder and he used curly koa with a maple burl ferrule.
