I purchased the Shun Premier 8" Chef’s knife and 4" Paring knife. I was told that this is the same steel as the Shun Classic,so sharpness and quality should be unquestioned. What lead me to these knives is the unbiased handles. We have both a lefty and righty in our kitchen,so someone was going to be uncomfortable with the Classics. Plus,the smaller Classic knives (3" Paring,7" utility) have a smaller diameter handle. In contrast,the Premiers have an unbiased handle that is larger in diameter and very nicely contoured. It is complimented by a steel end cap. These knives are extremely comfortable and well balanced. Finally,they are beautiful. The blades have a hammered Damascus finish and the handles are hardwood. Out of the box,they are unbelievably sharp. Well worth the investment!

Wow! These knives are beautiful. Wonderfully made. Crazy sharp so have to be extra careful when slicing. The handles are on the smaller side which is nice if you have smaller hands (which I do). Would highly recommend these knives if love to cook!
