This HD Nakiri is made with nickel Damascus steel and comes with a black Pakkawood handle. These knives are made by Ryusen and are re-sold under various brand names like Hattori, Ryusen and our distributor named Maruyoshi. The only difference is the Kanji engraving on the blade.
I would say that this Hattori HD Nakiri is the sharpest and most well balanced Nakiri that I own. Mark Richmond is a great vendor to purchase your knives from. He is very helpful with his advice...William K.
