Hampton Roads,VAI bought this GS-1 a good while back. At the time,it was the only paring knife I could find in the Global line. I have a pretty extensive collection of Globals, but this knife stinks AS a paring knife. When you try to pare with this knife, the blade is at a very awkward angle to your thumb, making paring difficult. This knife works ok as a ’mini’ chef’s knife, which is all I use it for now. Much better for paring would be GSF-46 or GSF-49.
