I called and emailed Mark with a few questions about some of the knives he carries. He thought that I would be happy with the Fowler petty. Problem is that they sell out really quick. I called Stephan Fowler and worked out a custom petty with an ironwood handle. Mark set up the invoice and walked me through sharpening stones etc. The knife took longer than Stephan had predicted because when he was making my blade (as well as others) he was not happy with the batch of steel he had procured. All those man-hours and he scrapped them due to personal standards. That is what "Made in the USA" is supposed to mean. Now I know why they sell out so quickly. The knife is amazing!!
