Hand American's Diamond Spray is considered the gold standard in the industry. The spray uses 21 carat in four ounce sprays in three micron sizes:
0.25, 0.5, and 1 micron.
Diamond sprays were not used by knife people until Keith De'Grau from HandAmerican introduced it
about four years ago. It started with using a diamond spray on straight razors. The diamond spray uses lab water that is deionized and then they add an ingredient that negates any residual electrical charge. This avoids clumping and keeps the grit level consistant. The second thing is that particle size is important. Each shipment of sprays that come in to HandAmerican comes with a report from the machine that scans the particle sizes from that batch. It shows that 99% of the particles in each batch conform to the size in question. The only
variances are particles that are smaller than the size in question. In the abrasives industry there are ranges allowed for particle sizing with the understanding that there are no particles larger than what is stated. So with our diamond spray there are guarantees that the particles will not clump, the particle sizes are uniform, and the customer is assured that the carat weight is as stated on the bottle. Just remember to shake the bottles for a few seconds before spraying. 4oz
I read a lot about the quality of Hand American (HA) products on Bladeforums. I’m so glad I tried them out. I applied 1 micron HA Diamond Spray to the Balsa Magnetic Pads for stropping and was wonderfully surprised with the results. It has clearly taken my stropping and edge refinement to the next level. Perhaps the ultimate level!
