This 1 micron boron carbide (black diamond) paste will stand up to the Murray Carter test. It is a polycrystalline and will leave microscopic teeth on your edge.
This boron carbide paste utilizes our base formula properties in that there is no oil or water in the mix and a hypoallergenic detergent is blended in to make clean up easy. What I like about these compounds is that they work very well and can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, wood, card stock, leather, and pretty much any pre shaped honing slip.
I’ve long been a fan of Keith’s boron carbide product. I’ve been using it on paper over glass for a long time. Not only does it put an amazing edge on things,but it does it FAST. There’s more to it than particle size and hardness numbers (it is the closest thing to diamond in hardness out there),but the practical side of it is that if you want a screaming sharp edge fast,get it. One of my favorite ’mixes’ is to followup a 16,000 grit edge with some boron carbide. Same particle size but what a combination!

I use it on leather belts on my belt sanders in my knife sharpening business,and I am truly amazed by how quickly the bc puts a finely honed,mirror polished,scary sharp edge on my blades. Beats the pants off 1 Micron Diamond paste. Just having used it for 2 days,I can already tell that I’ll never need to research a better 1 Micron compound for the rest of my life. This is it gentlemen. It is economical,it is durable,does what it promises and it doesn’t leave you guessing. You feel the difference instantly.

This stuff works. I had an old "cowboy" belt that had worn through at the buckle. I cut off a piece about 12" long and put some of the paste on the rough side. It works fast and definitely improves the edge leaving a mirror shine. After a dozen or so passes on the side with the boron carbide paste,I finish stropping on the smooth side of the leather. I have never made a sharper edge. I have never seen a sharper edge even when done by "professionals". Get some of this stuff and you won’t regret it.
