Bester 1000 works great. It removes metal fast. I soaked it in water for 20 minutes before using. After as much as 30 strokes you need to lap this stone,it turns black fast. I didnt you the DMT 8xx to lap it because at 120 grit,it is just to much for the bester 1000. Instead I use the beston 500( I have to flatten it first with DMT 8xx). Overall It is a good 1000 grit stone. Note,there is too little difference between the Bester 1000 grit and 2000 grit. 2000 grit is just a little bit smother than the 1000 grit. I will give it a four because I like the Bester 1200 grit much better.

This Bester 1000 is a great stone for the money,It is aggressive & creates a burr quickly.
