This Shun bamboo knife block is perfect for storing your knives on a counter top. It has 9 slots for knives as well as a slot for a steel and kitchen shears. Bamboo is a great material for knife blocks because it is strong, dense and renewable. This block measures 11 inches deep, 9 inches high and 5 inches wide.
I love the way this block looks and it doesn’t have too many slots which is nice if you are building your own set of knives. The bottom is open to let debris fall out so you don’t have to worry about it scratching your knives and dulling your edges.

If you are into kitchen safety,this block is for you. i did not want the block that has the steak knife slots,don’t need that. this block fits all or my knives i have collected over the years. the big slot on the bottom is great for scissors.
why did i not buy this 10 yrs ago? it keeps the knives sharp because they are not all thrown in together in my silverware drawer,scratching and dulling. it is safer to pull them out of the block instead of trying to dig for one out of a drawer and risk cutting yourself on a knife that is lying in the drawer facing your fingers.
the block fits great under my cabinet back in the corner.
